GDPR Compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union (EU) regulation that governs data protection and privacy for individuals within the EU. SREcalc is committed to compliance with GDPR and protecting the privacy rights of all users, regardless of their location.

Data Controller

Data Controller: SREcalc (Individual/Organization Name)

As the data controller, SREcalc is responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing personal data. We are committed to processing personal data in accordance with GDPR principles.

Data Processor

Data Processor: Vercel Inc. (Hosting)

SREcalc is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel acts as a data processor and is contractually obligated to process data only in accordance with our instructions and GDPR requirements.

Vercel's privacy policy and GDPR compliance information can be found at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Lawful Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data. SREcalc processes data based on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate Interest: For analytics and security purposes (anonymized data only)
  • Consent: For non-essential cookies and analytics (where applicable)
  • Contractual Necessity: For providing the core functionality of the service

We only process the minimum amount of personal data necessary for these purposes and ensure that processing does not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

1. Right to be Informed

You have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data. This information is provided in our Privacy Policy and this GDPR Compliance page.

2. Right of Access

You have the right to request access to your personal data and obtain information about how it is being processed. You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@srecalc.com.

3. Right to Rectification

You have the right to have inaccurate personal data corrected and incomplete data completed. Since SREcalc primarily uses anonymized data, this right applies mainly to any contact information you may have provided.

4. Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or when you withdraw consent. You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time, or contact us to request deletion of any stored data.

5. Right to Restrict Processing

You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of the data or object to processing.

6. Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller. Since SREcalc stores data locally in your browser, you have direct access to this data through your browser's developer tools.

7. Right to Object

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes. You can disable cookies and clear localStorage to prevent data processing, though this may affect website functionality.

8. Rights Related to Automated Decision Making

SREcalc does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or significantly affects you. All calculations are performed locally in your browser and do not involve automated processing of personal data.

Data Minimization and Security

SREcalc follows the principle of data minimization, collecting and processing only the minimum amount of personal data necessary for the intended purpose. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

All data processing occurs in compliance with GDPR requirements, and we regularly review and update our data protection practices.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated, and local storage data can be cleared by you at any time through your browser settings.

International Data Transfers

SREcalc is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure, which may involve transfers of data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Vercel has implemented appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with GDPR requirements.

Exercising Your Rights

To exercise any of your GDPR rights, or if you have questions or concerns about our data processing practices, please contact us:

Email: privacy@srecalc.com

We will respond to your request within one month of receipt. If your request is complex or we receive multiple requests, we may extend this period by up to two additional months, and we will inform you of any such extension.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that our processing of your personal data violates GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State where you reside, work, or where the alleged violation occurred.

You can find your local supervisory authority at edpb.europa.eu.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this GDPR Compliance page from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about your rights and our data protection practices.
